The Habitat for Humanity and The Home Store Team Up
Habitat for Humanity and The Home Store Set the Third Box for a Two-Story Modular Home Habitat for Humanity and The Home Store Complete a Two-Story Modular Home for a Victim of the 2011 Springfield Area Tornado Habitat for Humanity and The Home Store Set the Third Box for a Two-Story Modular Home
The Home Store, a modular home builder serving New England and New York, teamed up with the Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity to help victims of the tornado that hit downtown Springfield, MA in 2011. The modular home was built for Habitat by The Home Store. The Habitat for Humanity crew finished the modular home in eight days, with the scores of local volunteers guided in the assembly by Mike Barna of The Home Store. Mike is also a member of Habitat for Humanity. Here is some more information about the Habitat for Humanity homes built for the tornado victims.
The Habitat for Humanity Modular Home Design
The two-story modular design has a formal foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, and half bath on the first floor. The second floor has three bedrooms and a full bath. The front entrance is graced by a porch. The exterior of the home is virtually maintenance free with vinyl siding and windows. Since the modular home was built to meet the Energy Star standards, the new owners will enjoy years of energy savings and greater physical comfort.
Opportunities for Other Habitat for Humanity and Non-Profit Projects
Both Habitat for Humanity and The Home Store hope to join forces again in the near future to help other families in the Greater Springfield area. In fact, The Home Store is interested in assisting other local Habitat for Humanity groups and other non-profits in New England and New York. If you work with a Habitat for Humanity chapter or other non-profit organization, please give me a call at 413-665-1266 extension 25.
